Professional and Amateur guitar players alike constantly struggle with the balance between maximum delivery and technical proficiency. While many performers feel most comfortable and technically proficient practicing and playing sitting down, it's only on their feet that they realize the energy to fully capture and audience.

Of course, the best positioning of the instrument should allow the performer to see the entire fretboard, reach all positions up the neck, hold both hands in proper alignment and keep the forearm off of the face of the instrument. Yet the performer sacrifices such optimal positioning of the instrument the minute he or she stands up in front of the audience with the instrument hanging from a shoulder strap. When attached to a guitar strap, the guitar's width and lack of contour combine to push the fretboard and top of the instrument away from the performer, thus creating something of a struggle between the performer and his or her instrument.

The Perfect Pickin' Pouch™ can help you optimize your technical proficiency in front of an audience. NOW YOU CAN STAND AND DELIVER IN THE BEST OF FORM.

How It Works

By securing The Perfect Pickin' Pouch™ to the back of the instrument, the The Perfect Pickin' Pouch™ pad is set between the performers torso and the instrument's lower edge. The pad pushes the lower edge of the instrument away from the torso, thus creating an angle between the performer and the instrument, and allowing one to position his or her instrument for optimal playability.

The The Perfect Pickin' Pouch™ is attached to the back of a guitar by way of two fully adjustable composite Nylon, Velcro and leather straps that are secured to the strap pins at both the end of the guitar and the heel of the neck. The device can also be worn as a belt (by attaching an additional clip-on device to the strap-ends ). The pad's thickness can also be fully customized by adding of removing some of the internal stuffing.

By spending some time adjusting the device to your liking, you will be able to position your instrument standing up as easily and with as much range as you would achieve sitting down.

Want to get a first hand idea of how it works? Try this experiment:

  1. Tuck a loose fitting shirt under your belt and fill the space around your abdomen with two or three pairs of socks.
  2. Hang the guitar from your shoulder as you normally would.
  3. Walk around for a bit, playing your instrument. Adjust the number and position of the socks and see how it works

Note: Preserve your reputation. Make sure nobody is home when you try this experiment.

I have designed The Perfect Pickin' Pouch™ with 3 pockets (2 small and 1 larger) to hold picks, capos, tuners, money, car keys, autograph pens, etc. (particularly useful for some women performers who's stage attire does not provide handy pockets).

The Perfect Pickin' Pouch™ comes in a selection of muted colors to be both unobtrusive and blend with the colors of the backs and sides of most guitars (currently 2 shades of brown, burgundy and hunter green).

I have played the guitar for over 30 years without The Perfect Pickin' Pouch™. Since developing the The Perfect Pickin' Pouch™, I wouldn't think of performing on my feet without it. Hopefully, you will find this to be true for yourself.

Happy Pickin'
